2018 Tiling Trends – It’s All About Patterned Tiles

We’re noticing a trend in our sales this year, and it’s pointing towards patterned tiles, whether it’s tiling arrangements using coloured tiles, or patterned tiles themselves. For a while it was all about simplicity, taking inspiration from Scandinavian or Japanese influences, but the tide has changed. Colours and patterns are in, and there’s a fantastic range of patterned tiles available now. Simplicity can still be achieved, but we like to think that simplicity with flair is the key. Or do you feel like going big and bold? We have it all.

Patterned tiles can be used as a feature to liven up any room. From adding colour and interest into a minimalistic kitchen to brightening up a dark room or hall way by turning the floor into a colourful pattered feature, there are many ways to bring some personality into the home.

There are many creative and unusual uses for patterned tiles in the bathroom, kitchen, laundry room or hallway. Did you know you can create a bamboo screen effect with tiles? Who’d have thought? We have a range of quirky and interesting tiles in our Falmouth showroom.

Patterned and textured tiles can be used to create calmness, serenity and a natural simplicity too – it doesn’t always have to be about bold prints or colours. This Studio Cimento Wave tiles from Original Style bring a level of sophistication to the bathroom. I think you’ll agree that the calming colour and gentle texture complements rustic and wood furniture just as well as it would stand out against crisp white or cream ceramics.
